Bienvenidos!

Hola y bienvenidos de la clase de espanol!

My name is Senora Thelen and I am so proud to be the Spanish teacher at both Eastlawn Elementary and St. Johns schools. As you read in the note I sent home with your student last week, I am very excited to be teaching in Midland Public Schools! I am very passionate about the Spanish language and hope to instill that motivation in my students so that they continue their education in acquiring a second language. Spanish is becoming increasingly popular here in the United States and we even have quite a large population of Spanish speakers here in Midland, MI! Que bueno! Throughout the school year I will be posting on this blog frequently to inform students and their families about what we are learning in class. I encourage you to use this resource, as well as others to work with your student to learn Spanish. BY NO MEANS is this required, but I have received phone calls and notes asking for ways parents can become involved in Spanish if they don't know how to speak the language, so this is one way! Each week I will post material that we are covering in Spanish class on this blog, as well as our website, www.mrsthelenspanish.weebly.com. These tools will be in Spanish, so even if you don't speak the language, they can be useful! If you visit either the blog or the website, you will find homework help, as well as extra practice materials, games, etc.

I always invite you in to the classroom to come learn with us, and I am also open to feedback and ideas, so please contact me at ThelenSA@mps.k12.mi.us if you would like to talk.

Thank you and I look forward to a fantastic year!

Gracias! Senora Thelen
